Hydro Green Energy, LLC is a renewable energy project developer and technology integrator that designs, builds and operates hydrokinetic power projects that generate electricity exclusively from moving water (river currents, tidal currents and ocean currents) without having to construct dams, impoundments or conduits.  Hydro Green Energy’s technology platform can also be deployed at existing hydropower projects (called Hydro+™), which bolsters the output of the existing project in an environmentally-sound manner with a cutting-edge technology. 

Operating as an Independent Power Producer (IPP), Hydro Green Energy sells the power generated by its broadly patented hydrokinetic turbine arrays (HTAs) via long-term, wholesale power purchase agreements (PPAs) to project equity partners, power marketing firms, utilities, cities and industrial interests.  In-stream and ocean-based hydrokinetic power projects will generate the lowest cost renewable power since water currents are predictable and available 24 hours a day, unlike solar, and have an energy density 850 times greater than wind.  River and ocean-based hydrokinetics projects will operate in baseload fashion, which is important for grid reliability, reducing the impacts of climate change and to better meeting our nation’s growing electricity needs.

Hydro Green Energy has been awarded a U.S. Patent (#6955049) and has 87 U.S. and International Patents pending on the Company's core technology.  Renewable energy production is extremely attractive and in demand now more than ever due to the fact there are no fuel costs associated with the power generation or deleterious and unwanted side effects, such as the generation of greenhouse gasses, toxic air emissions or waste products.  Although many different schemas have been tried in various renewable energy markets, most technologies suffer the debilitating issue that the energy produced costs far more than competitive fossil fuel-based power generation methods.
