IN-STREAM HYDROKINETIC POWER PROJECTS

Also known as free-flow, open-river, greenfield or run-of-river hydrokinetic power projects, these river power projects do not involve the building of dams or conduits. Hydrokinetic power refers to the generation of power from the naturally-occurring flow, current or velocity of water through the use of turbines. Since hydrokinetic power relies simply on the velocity of water, these river power systems can be placed into sources of flowing water with minimal infrastructure or environmental impacts. Hydrokinetic power is cutting-edge waterpower.

Hydro Green Energy is presently pursuing 14 in-stream hydrokinetic power projects in the United States.
